Neighborhood Walk Weekend

Join us for Neighborhood Walk Weekend: August 31

Every year, we designate one weekend to get out, walk, and pray for our community. We won’t have any services that weekend—instead, we encourage you to walk your neighborhood and pray for those around you.

No matter how you choose to participate–this isn’t a weekend to skip church, but to get out and surround our community in prayer, so that more people can find Whole Life in Jesus! Join us as we lift our communities up in prayer!

On August 31, at 9am, we’re taking a break from our regular weekend worship, and we encourage all Pathfinders to go for a walk around their neighborhoods—wherever they are! But it doesn't stop at just praying! While walking, find a way to be an active blessing to your neighbors.

How Can I Participate?

Pray:

Use our prayer guide to “pray what you see,” turning your walk into a meaningful prayer time by praying for your neighbors with the visual prompts of what you see around you. Pastor Dion Garrett will lead a LIVE virtual prayer walk at 9am on August 31. Join him or, even better, invite a friend to join YOU on a prayer walk.

Serve:

Take a trash bag with you and pick up trash while you walk. Or bring a pair of gardening gloves and pull weeds growing in common areas and sidewalk cracks that shouldn’t be there.

Encourage:

A piece of sidewalk chalk can be a powerful way to spread encouragement. During your walk, find public sidewalks or common areas to write messages of hope and support for others. Or leave notes of encouragement for your neighbors as you pass people’s homes. Just be respectful of private property!

Connect:

Take a walk with the purpose of connecting with your neighbors! Make direct eye contact, say hello, and keep a few questions handy to create brief, meaningful moments with the people around you.

Pro tip: In canine-heavy areas, bring some dog treats. There’s no easier way to make friends with dogs and their owners than with a treat—just ask for permission before sharing!
